Interested in being a K-1 Room Parent?

I am hoping to find two people that are interested in being room parents for the K-1 classroom. The responsibilities of a room parent include sending out emails about upcoming PTO events/classroom events, creating sign-ups, organizing classroom events such as K-1's annual Thanksgiving Feast, 100th Day of School Celebration, Dr. Seuss Day, Valentine's Day among other happenings in K-1! 

If you are interested, please respond to this email no later than Monday, September 25th. Names will be chosen at random and announced on Tuesday, September 26th.

What is Small Group Literacy

Small group literacy is an instructional practice whereby children are divided into two orthree groups to engage in a teacher planned and facilitated learning experience with a specified learning objective from the Tools ofthe Mind curriculum.

1st Day for Group B!

Today was an awesome day! We had morning meeting, practiced our morning jobs, played outside at recess, ate lunch in the cafeteria, explored during math workshop and went to library. Ask your child about their favorite part of the day!

First Week of Kindergarten!

As a way to ease kindergarten students into the new school year, kindergarten students will have one full day of school with only half of their peers.  Therefore, if your kindergartner is scheduled to attend school on Wednesday, September 6th, he/she WILL NOT attend school on Thursday, September 7th.  If your kindergartner is scheduled to attend school on Thursday, September 7th, he/she WILL NOT attend school on Wednesday, September 6th.  On Friday, September 8th, ALL students will come together for their very first day of kindergarten as a whole class. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are full days of school, 8:10-2:30. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions at anolan@arlington.k12.ma.us
