About Ms. Winsted (K-1's Teaching Assistant)
Welcome everyone! My name is Abi Winsted and I will be your child’s Teaching Assistant this year. In 2011, I went off to get my Bachelors Degree at Roger Williams University in Bristol, RI. I graduated with a major in Psychology and a minor in Educational Studies. I became the Science Teacher at Youth Villages- Germaine Lawrence in Arlington, MA which is a school at a residential treatment center for girls 7th through 12th grade. After some time there, I found that my true passion was to work with younger children and I decided to go back to school to get my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.
One of my many passions is playing soccer. I have played my whole life and I hope to become a coach as I have recently been certified. I have always loved the game and hope to have an opportunity to help others who share a love for the game. Aside from soccer, I enjoy being outside, photography, hanging out with my cats, running in spartan races and watching football. Fun fact: One of my many non-educational goals in life is to make it to every NFL football stadium.
I look forward to a great year at Stratton Elementary School!
