Halloween in K-1

Good afternoon,

We had such a fun day today in K-1. First, we all came to school dressed in our Halloween costume's and paraded through all of Stratton School.

Next, we came back to our classroom and had a delicious mystery snack. Check out our snacks...

After snack, we had fun doing five different Halloween themed activities with some parent volunteers.

Science: Catapults

Today, during science, we learned all about catapults used during the Medieval times.

We made predictions about what objects would knock our castles down...

and we tested our catapults out!

New Math Game: Compare

Over the past few days we've learned how to play a new math game called Compare. Click here to play online or play with a few decks of cards (all you need are numbers 1-10). Have fun!

Pumpkin Picking!

On Friday, we went on a field trip to a farm. This is us on the bus...

We took a hayride from the farm all the way to the pumpkin patch! We even saw cows along the way...

Time to pick some pumpkins!

Back to the farm to eat lunch...

Knights Prop Making

Today we began our study of medieval times. We begin by watching a PowerPoint on castles. Make sure to ask your child about a fact they learned!

Next, we began to make props for our next two weeks of dramatization of the Magic Treehouse story, Knights at Dawn!
