Stratton PRIDE!

PRIDE in our students, PRIDE in our school, PRIDE in our community!

Stratton PRIDE is a community-building and independence-promoting enrichment program.  Throughout the year, the entire school gathers for PRIDE assemblies and through presentations and activities, the Stratton PRIDE program fosters:
PERSEVERANCE
RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY
INDEPENDENCE
DEDICATION
EMPOWERMENT
The main goals of the PRIDE program are:
  • To create a common language across grade levels
  • The provide a discussion forum for relevant issues
  • To create a classroom and school community of respect and inclusion
  • To learn problem-solving skills to apply inside and outside of the classroom
Topics discussed at PRIDE assemblies include respect for oneself and others, the importance of trying one’s best, and other issues that strengthen the sense of community and individual responsibility.  Ask your kindergartner how they can show PRIDE!
Students are encouraged to wear their grade’s assigned PRIDE color on assembly days.  When students sit together for assemblies they can readily see their grades and others, and the rainbow the school makes together.  PRIDE Assemblies are held once a month on Thursday mornings. Specific dates will be posted in our classroom newsletter.
