Volunteers

Volunteers
Volunteers are a great support system for both the teacher and students and are welcomed in the classroom.  There will be several opportunities throughout the school year to volunteer whether it be on a weekly basis, for a special event or during lunch time.  If you are able to donate some of your time during the school day, it is greatly appreciated!

C.O.R.I. Requirements
It is the policy of the Arlington Public Schools to obtain all available Criminal Offender Record Information (C.O.R.I.) from the criminal history systems board of prospective employee(s) or volunteer(s) of the school department including any individual who regularly provides school related transportation to children, who may have direct and unmonitored contact with children, prior to hiring the employee(s) or to accepting any person as a volunteer. Refer to School Committee Policy ADDA concerning C.O.R.I. Requirements

Please be sure to fill out a CORI form in the office before you volunteer at the school!

Mystery Reader
Every Monday, K-1 hosts a Mystery Reader.  The Mystery Reader is invited in from 2:00-2:15PM to read to students and can be a parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle, older sibling, etc.  This is a very exciting part of the week and students really look forward to guessing who their next Mystery Reader will be so please try not to share the secret with your kindergartner!
